The data provides daily measurements for various pollutants (such as SO2, NO2, and RSPM) for different locations for the year 2009. It is useful for environmental studies and for monitoring public health.
The dataset contains 704 records. While 'Sampling Date' and 'Location' fields are complete, there are some missing values in pollutant measurements: SO2 (9.2% missing), RSPM/PM10 (3.8% missing), and NO2/SPM (0.8% missing). Pollutant values are numeric (float).
Environmental impact assessment, longitudinal studies of urban pollution in Delhi, public health research on particulate matter exposure, and seasonal trend analysis of SO2 and NO2 levels.
The dataset is restricted to the year 2009 and covers only the Delhi region. It does not include newer pollutants like PM2.5 or Ozone which are now standard in air quality indexes.
Data was obtained through the National Air Quality Monitoring Programme (NAMP) using manual monitoring stations where air samples are collected over a 24-hour period and subsequently analyzed in a laboratory.
